City Farm Cafe - East Perth

So last week, I did something I've never done before... brunched alone! With my work schedule allowing me only one weekend day off, it can be difficult to plan things with friends and family who are on a 8-5 Monday to Friday schedule. So I took the liberty of going to brunch by myself... and I loved it!

I decided on a place I've always wanted to try, but no-one else, in my circle, seemed interested in! That place was the City Farm Cafe in East Perth. I loved the garden atmosphere, it was kind of like brunching in someone's backyard. 

The Breakfast Burger ($14.50)

The City Farm Cafe's menu is not huge, but everything sounded interesting. I was tossing up between the breakfast burger and the beef and mushroom pie that they had on display. The cashier actually suggested the pie, but being the hard-core rebel that I am, I went with the burger. No regrets there. I'm sure the pie would have been lovely as well, but this breakfast burger really hit the spot. The burger was filled with and egg, bacon, cheese and tomato relish. The bun was nice and soft, the bacon was soft, crispy and plentiful and the egg was cooked perfectly. I was so excited when I saw the glorious yolk pouring out as I cut into the burger. The tomato relish was perfectly sweet and sour as well.

Iced Rooibos with Apple Juice ($8.50)

To drink, I tried the iced rooibos. They offer this drink mixed with coconut and apple juice and I chose the latter. I was worried that the apple juice would over power the rooibos and I had just ordered a glass of apple juice, but as I slurped the iced tea, it was really well balanced. They also used blended apple, not your regular bottled apple juice as the drink was delightfully pulpy. 

I had such a great time chilling on my own, I'm going to have to make this a regular thing. I definitely think the City Farm Cafe played a big part in my enjoyment! I would rate them 8/10.
